The Omar Hakim Experience
ATG Communications partnered with MTV Video Music Award winner Jim Swaffield to produce a dynamic short film on legendary drummer Omar Hakim—an artist whose rhythm has shaped decades of music history.
You may not know his name, but you know his sound. Omar laid down the beat on Daft Punk’s Grammy-winning “Random Access Memories”, toured with Sting in the ’80s, Madonna in the ’90s, and played on iconic albums like David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” and Dire Straits’ “Brothers in Arms”. He’s shared stages and studios with everyone from Miles Davis and John Lennon to Bob Dylan and Peter Gabriel—and even went on tour with Journey in 2015.
This short film was designed to capture Omar’s energy, versatility, and quiet brilliance—bringing his story to life for a new generation of music lovers, artists, and collaborators.
