About
Before founding Against the Grain Communications, I was a Senior Vice President at HMV, a $1.5 billion division of EMI Music Group, where I oversaw business development, marketing, and real estate. I served on the board of both the U.S. and Canadian operations and had a hand in everything from strategic planning and advertising to store design and construction.
I’m the co-author of the best-selling business book The World’s Largest Market, released by the American Management Association. My first feature documentary, Gatsby in Connecticut, was released by Vision Films and named one of the best films of 2020 by The New Yorker. My latest short documentary, To the State of the Good Life, about a DACA recipient, is currently screening at the national immigrant conference Welcoming Interactive as part of a national social impact campaign.
My novel My Year as a Clown won the Silver Medal for Popular Fiction from the Independent Publisher Book Awards. As an Associate Fellow at Harvard Business School, I’ve published several cases and articles on international business and government relations.
When you hire Against the Grain, you get more than a strategist—you get access to a curated network of top-tier creatives. From Pulitzer Prize-winning illustrators to Rock & Roll Hall of Famers and MTV Video Award winners, we bring the right talent to the task at hand.
