Before launching ATG Communications, I spent ten years at HMV, the iconic music retailer and a division of EMI Music Group. I began my journey at global headquarters in London, where I focused on business development and international expansion, working across markets including the U.S., Canada, Ireland, France, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand.
HMV opened its first store on Oxford Street in 1921, and by the 1990s, it was the dominant record retailer in the UK. I was proud to contribute during that pivotal era—first in the UK, and later in North America, where I served on the board and led marketing initiatives across both the U.S. and Canada.
My work expanded into retail real estate, store design, and early digital strategy, as the industry began to evolve. A personal highlight was leading the development of the HMV store in the newly opened Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland—a project that drew international attention and gave me the unforgettable opportunity to collaborate with architect I.M. Pei.
This chapter of my career not only deepened my understanding of global brand building, consumer experience, and strategic growth—but laid the groundwork for the creative, cross-disciplinary storytelling I do today through ATG Communications.
